80 /Eighty Strand, Covent Garden, Riverside WC2. Reimagined / Transformed.

A complete root and branch refurbishment, 226,000 sq. ft of contemporary office space, a remodelled main reception, enhanced communal spaces, new facilities and wellness improvements throughout, with multiple upgrades.

For the transformation at Eighty Strand we provided a comprehensive structural steel package to support the reimagined build to open the space to create a light-filled contemporary space to extend to greater riverside views in this iconic building.

Alloy Fabweld crafted the feature balustrade for the main reception to match the existing style and finish in keeping with the bronze effect throughout the building using our specialist water jet cutting technology for the intricate detailing and a smooth elegant quality finish complementing the stunning Art Deco features.

Utilising our design, manufacture and installation expertise we crafted the bridge reinforcement around the now newly open light-filled space to establish the new feature café and bar area. Connecting a new floor level area to connect to the multiple levels and up to the roof garden.

Thorough and careful cleaning for the refurbishment of the support beams was carried out after the concrete removal enabling our site teams to apply the latest fire protection coating, bringing these up to date with the current fire protection standards.

Furthermore, we provided the design and manufacture with full installation of a stainless-steel balustrade along with a complementary polished stainless-steel handrail for the first-floor safety feature. Leading to the Pavilion entrance from the Strand as the building’s main reception area, the beautiful glass structure creates a welcoming atmosphere flooded with natural light. Surrounded by the original cream building tiles, this atrium creates a unique indoor/outdoor communal space.

The renovation was finished off with new complementary fire and roller shutters fitted to the car park entrance and cladding to match the overall sympathetic design of the building.
