What Does Offsite Pre-Assembly Change for Construction Managers?

Less time on site. Fewer complications. A more predictable installation programme.

For construction managers delivering large residential developments, managing programme deadlines, labour, crane availability and site logistics is a constant balancing act.

Traditional balcony installations can introduce additional complexity, with multiple activities to coordinate, restricted access and significant reliance on crane time.

But what if more of that work could be completed before the balcony even arrives on site?

That's the thinking behind 3SX Balconies, an innovative system developed by Alloy Fabweld in collaboration with Unipart and AliDeck.

More Work in the Factory. Less Work on Site.

Offsite pre-assembly moves key manufacturing and assembly activities into a controlled factory environment, reducing the amount of work required at the installation stage.

Rather than coordinating numerous individual components on site, construction teams receive pre-assembled balcony units ready for lifting into position.

For construction managers, this offers several practical advantages, including more consistent manufacturing quality, fewer on-site assembly activities and improved control over delivery schedules.

With 3SX, the repeatable design and manufacturing process also helps simplify production planning across developments requiring hundreds of balconies.

A Simpler Installation Sequence

One of the biggest advantages of 3SX is its Click & Slide installation methodology.

The system uses a guidance cone fixed to the building structure and a corresponding keylock connection integrated into the balcony chassis.

Once delivered, the balcony is lifted into position, aligned with the guidance cone, slid into place and secured from within the building.

This repeatable process is designed to reduce installation complexity, limit unnecessary work at height and make more efficient use of crane availability.

For construction managers, a clearer installation sequence means fewer moving parts to coordinate and greater confidence when planning site activities.

Better Logistics for Busy Construction Sites

Space is often at a premium on residential construction sites, particularly in busy urban locations.

Delivering materials before they're required can create congestion, increase handling and take up valuable storage space.

3SX supports a more coordinated logistics approach through pre-assembled units, optimised transportation and deliveries sequenced around the installation programme.

This helps construction managers plan when balconies arrive, how they are unloaded and when they can be installed.

The result is a delivery strategy designed to reduce unnecessary site movements and support a more organised working environment.

Predictability Starts Before Installation

Offsite manufacturing doesn't remove the need for careful planning. In fact, early coordination becomes even more important.

Structural connections, design approvals, installation tolerances, lifting arrangements and delivery sequences must all be agreed before installation begins.

When these elements are addressed early, construction teams can benefit from a more repeatable process with fewer avoidable changes on site.

For larger developments, that consistency can make a meaningful difference to programme management.

Making Balcony Delivery More Predictable

Offsite pre-assembly isn't simply about moving work from the construction site into a factory. It's about creating a more coordinated approach to balcony delivery.

Through its optimised structural design, controlled manufacturing and repeatable installation methodology, 3SX has been developed to help construction managers simplify delivery while maintaining quality and safety.

3SX Balconies. Repeatable balconies. Predictable delivery.
