Stratford Riverside
Weston Homes, London
Alloy Fabweld worked directly with Weston Homes Plc to deliver a £5 million architectural metalwork package for the project. Their scope included the design, sheet metal work, fabrication, cladding and installation of 355 balconies and cladded fins across 28 storeys.
The balconies were a defining feature of the development, providing residents with private outdoor space while adding depth, repetition and architectural rhythm to the tower elevations. Their scale across the 28-storey structure required precise fabrication and consistent installation to ensure a clean, high-quality finish throughout.
The cladded fins added further character to the building envelope, helping to break up the façade and create a strong vertical identity. These elements needed to integrate carefully with the balcony structures and wider cladding system, balancing visual impact with performance, durability and buildability.
Delivering such a large balcony and cladding package on a constrained high-rise site required careful planning, accurate manufacture and close coordination with the wider project team. Alloy Fabweld’s in-house design, fabrication and installation capability helped support efficient delivery while maintaining control over quality and finish.
Alloy Fabweld’s contribution to Stratford Riverside demonstrates their ability to deliver large-scale, high-rise balcony and façade metalwork packages in complex urban environments. Through detailed design, precision fabrication and coordinated installation, the team helped create a distinctive residential tower that reflects the scale and ambition of Stratford’s ongoing regeneration.
"Alloy Fabweld delivered the Stratford Riverside balcony and cladded fin package with professionalism, precision and strong technical control. Their ability to manage design, fabrication and installation across 28 storeys helped achieve a consistent, high-quality finish on a challenging and prominent residential development."

Stratford Riverside is a prominent mixed-use residential development in East London, positioned close to the River Lea and Stratford’s wider regeneration area. Also referred to as Stratford Edge, the scheme combines retail and commercial space with affordable housing and a high-rise residential tower, creating a modern city living environment in one of London’s fastest-changing districts.
The development includes a 29-storey residential tower, connected to a lower-rise block, with homes designed to make the most of views across Stratford and the London skyline. Its location, between the river wall and the A118 High Street, created a compact and technically constrained site that required careful coordination throughout the build.
