NU Living 360 Barking
Swan Homes, London
Alloy Fabweld were commissioned to manufacture and install the pavilions’ defining feature: bespoke teardrop-shaped balconies. These balconies are more than just outdoor spaces, they are sculptural design elements that give character and elegance to the circular towers and promise panoramic views for residents.
Working with sustainability and material efficiency in mind, Alloy Fabweld used ecodek® composite decking for the balcony floors. This choice allowed for tailored lengths ranging from 7 metres to just under 2 metres, minimising site waste and enhancing build precision. In a project where circular and curved design demanded absolute accuracy, the ease of cutting and finish of the ecodek® boards proved a clear advantage. Any offcuts were proactively repurposed, with ecodek® purchasing back the waste and recycling it into new product, demonstrating a genuine commitment to circular construction.
Through precise engineering, material innovation and close coordination, Alloy Fabweld turned the teardrop balconies from a vision on paper into a defining architectural signature of 360 Barking, strengthening both the visual identity and sustainability credentials of the project.
"Alloy Fabweld transformed our vision for the 360 Barking towers into reality. Their craftsmanship on the teardrop balconies and commitment to sustainable material use showcased their technical flair and dedication to environmental responsibility."
