The package included cantilever balconies complete with glass balustrades and stainless steel top rails, providing residents with private external space while maintaining clear views and a light, open appearance. Alloy Fabweld also delivered inset balconies, finished with glass balustrades, stainless steel top rails, wooden slat louvre panels for shading, aluminium powder-coated capping and soffit panels.
These balcony systems were an important part of the building’s architectural character. They added depth and rhythm to the façade while creating comfortable, practical outdoor areas for residents. The wooden slat louvre panels also helped provide shading and privacy, supporting the needs of retirement living while contributing warmth and texture to the exterior.
Beyond the balconies, Alloy Fabweld manufactured and installed the communal roof terrace balustrade, communal stair balustrades, car park entrance gates and aluminium louvre panels. Each element was designed to integrate with the wider building envelope, creating a consistent and durable finish across shared spaces, access points and external elevations.
Working within a major regeneration setting required strong coordination, accurate fabrication and close attention to detail. Alloy Fabweld’s contribution helped complete a high-quality residential building that supports Kidbrooke Village’s wider vision of modern, accessible and community-focused living.
Alloy Fabweld’s work at Kidbrooke demonstrates their ability to deliver varied architectural metalwork packages for large-scale residential regeneration schemes. Through balconies, balustrades, gates, louvres and roof terrace features, the team helped create safe, attractive and well-integrated spaces for residents.
"Alloy Fabweld delivered the Kidbrooke metalwork package with professionalism, precision and care. Their work on the balconies, balustrades, louvres, gates and roof terrace elements helped create a high-quality finish that supports both the appearance and everyday use of this important residential development."

Kidbrooke Village is one of South East London’s most significant regeneration projects, transforming the former Ferrier Estate into a modern, green and well-connected neighbourhood. Led by Berkeley Homes, the wider masterplan has created a new residential community with homes, shops, leisure facilities, public spaces and extensive parkland, all centred around the idea of creating a genuine village environment within London.
Alloy Fabweld was appointed to deliver a £1.5 million architectural metalwork package for a Phase 2 regeneration building within Kidbrooke Village, comprising 170 contemporary retirement homes. The project required a varied and carefully coordinated scope of works, designed to support both the safety and visual quality of the development.
