City North, Finsbury Square

Telford Homes, London

Over two years, Alloy Fabweld collaborated closely with Telford Homes to manage design, fabrication and installation of an extensive range of architectural metalwork. Their contributions included balconies, balustrades, brise-soleil screens, canopies for solar shading, privacy screens, cat ladders and the standout feature of penthouse staircases with timber treads and caps.

To overcome the site’s logistical challenges, including restricted access and Covid-era disruptions, the Alloy Fabweld team worked around the clock and devised clever engineering and delivery solutions. For example, they carefully reversed articulated lorries into the train station entrance to minimise disturbance to local transport infrastructure.

Their work not only enhanced the visual identity and architectural quality of City North, but also ensured the project proceeded on time and with minimal impact on the surrounding community.

"Alloy Fabweld’s craftsmanship and innovation were crucial to bringing City North to life. Despite challenging access and pandemic pressures, their precision-engineered balconies, shading canopies, privacy screens and feature penthouse staircases were delivered with professionalism and ingenuity, ensuring both design excellence and smooth delivery."
