Campbell Park

Taylor Wimpey, Milton Keynes

A central part of the package was the creation of steel balconies that gave residents practical private outdoor living space. The balconies incorporated feature sliding glass screens designed to provide protection from rain and strong sunlight while allowing residents to adjust the level of shelter, openness and privacy to suit the conditions.

The sliding screens also added movement and variation to the elevations. As residents repositioned the panels, the appearance of the buildings could change throughout the day, creating a more active and distinctive façade while improving the everyday use of the balconies.

Alloy Fabweld also delivered cantilever balconies, steel walkways and terrace balustrades within the communal courtyards. These elements supported safe movement around the buildings while helping to connect private homes with the wider shared spaces of the development.

Within the communal areas, Alloy Fabweld installed stair balustrades designed to withstand regular residential use while maintaining a consistent architectural finish. Steel support frames were also manufactured and installed on the roofs to accommodate solar panels, contributing to the practical infrastructure and environmental performance of the buildings.

Delivering the works across four phases required careful planning, consistent fabrication and close coordination with the wider construction team. Alloy Fabweld’s ability to manage the design, manufacture and installation of the package helped maintain quality and visual continuity across the development.

Alloy Fabweld’s contribution to Campbell Park demonstrates their ability to deliver extensive balcony, balustrade and walkway packages across large, phased residential schemes. The completed metalwork provided residents with safe and adaptable external spaces while adding architectural character and long-term functionality to the development.

"Alloy Fabweld delivered the Campbell Park metalwork package with precision, consistency and professionalism across all four phases. Their balconies, sliding glass screens, walkways and balustrades created safe, attractive and practical external spaces while supporting the architectural quality of the wider development."

Campbell Park is a major residential development in Central Milton Keynes, located close to the city’s principal urban park and the Grand Union Canal. Forming part of a wider neighbourhood planned to provide more than 1,000 homes, the scheme was designed to combine contemporary residential architecture with private outdoor spaces, shared courtyards and well-connected communal areas.

Alloy Fabweld was appointed by Taylor Wimpey to deliver a £4 million architectural metalwork package across four phases. Working to the design of HTA Architect Ltd, the team designed, manufactured and installed a wide variety of metalwork across four residential blocks.
