Block G3 Wood Wharf

Canary Wharf Contractors, London

Working in a residential environment required careful planning and clear communication. Each balcony had to be accessed, stripped and reinstated safely, with works managed to minimise disruption to residents and maintain the quality of the surrounding building fabric. The replacement decking provided a durable, fire-rated solution designed to improve safety, compliance and long-term performance.

Resident liaison formed an important part of the delivery. Alloy Fabweld helped coordinate access, manage communication and ensure that works were carried out in a controlled and considerate manner. This was particularly important on a remediation project where occupied homes, safety requirements and programme certainty all had to be carefully balanced.

The successful completion of Block G3 Wood Wharf demonstrates Alloy Fabweld’s ability to deliver sensitive remediation works in live residential settings. By combining technical knowledge, self-sufficient delivery and a clear focus on compliance, the team provided Canary Wharf Contractors with a reliable solution from inspection through to handover.

"Alloy Fabweld delivered the Block G3 Wood Wharf balcony decking replacement with professionalism, care and technical expertise. Their direct-delivery approach, clear communication and ability to work efficiently in a live residential environment ensured the project was completed safely, smoothly and to a high standard."

Project Manager

Balconies

Block G3 Wood Wharf forms part of Canary Wharf’s modern residential estate, where building safety, compliance and resident care are essential to the long-term performance of the development. Alloy Fabweld was appointed directly by Canary Wharf Contractors to deliver a balcony decking replacement package, removing existing non-compliant composite decking and replacing it with a compliant aluminium alternative.

The project was delivered over a six-month programme as a £670k direct-delivery package. From the outset, Alloy Fabweld took responsibility for the full process, including inspection, planning, removal, replacement and completion. This ensured the client had one clear point of contact throughout the works, helping to reduce risk, improve coordination and maintain control of the programme.
