Bermondsey Balconies, Crimscott Street
London Square, Southwark
Alloy Fabweld worked closely with London Square to deliver a specialist balcony package that supported both the new-build and refurbishment elements of the scheme. Their scope included the design, manufacture and installation of 30 external balconies, alongside the careful refurbishment and restoration of 100 internal balconies.
The external balconies were designed to complement the contemporary architecture of the new buildings while sitting comfortably within the wider industrial character of the development. Each balcony helped provide residents with valuable private external space, adding depth, rhythm and visual interest to the building façades.
The internal balcony refurbishment required a more sensitive approach. Working within a development that retained and celebrated parts of Bermondsey’s industrial past, Alloy Fabweld restored existing balcony elements with care and precision, helping to preserve the character of the buildings while bringing them up to the quality and performance expected of a modern residential scheme.
The wider masterplan places strong emphasis on reconnecting the site with the surrounding streets through new walkways, green spaces and active commercial frontages. Alloy Fabweld’s balcony works contributed to this vision by helping to create buildings that feel both practical and characterful, combining resident amenity with a strong architectural finish.
The Bermondsey Balconies project demonstrates Alloy Fabweld’s ability to work across both new construction and restoration-led refurbishment. Through careful design, accurate fabrication and sensitive installation, the team helped London Square deliver a high-quality residential environment that respects Bermondsey’s heritage while supporting its ongoing regeneration.
"Alloy Fabweld delivered the Bermondsey balcony package with care, precision and professionalism. Their work on both the new external balconies and the restored internal balconies helped achieve a finish that respects the area’s industrial heritage while supporting the quality and character of this important regeneration project."
