You will be an integral part of our business, assisting with the day-to-day procurement process and developing strong relationships with suppliers, whilst monitoring & improving performance across delivery, price, and quality. With an eye for detail along with managing lead times and costs efficiently.

Purchasing & Production
The Role:
As a Purchasing Assistant you will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, and services and managing vendors. The role will include managing procurement requirements ensuring all the materials are available for production and well within the agreed time scale, quality, and cost constraint.
Key responsibilities of the role

Working closely with the Procurement Manager across the procurement function, assisting with the day-to-day procurement process and activity, ensuring optimal supplier performance

Being part of the end-to-end procurement processes including document preparation, negotiations, and supplier management

Ensuring purchasing activities reflect diverse requirements and overall business goals, as well as complying with all regulatory standards

Developing strong relationships with key suppliers and managing ongoing contractual relationships

Regularly reviewing long-term agreements with existing suppliers

Monitoring and improving supplier performance (delivery, price, and quality)

Identifying new suppliers, agreeing on terms, and negotiating supply agreements where appropriate

Devising and implementing action plans to reduce costs and improve service delivery time

Reviewing and enhancing ongoing processes and systems and developing new strategies where necessary

Liaising with site teams, monitoring movements in programs and delivery dates

Keeping call-off/ delivery schedules up to date

Raising purchase orders

Monitoring all lead times and delivery costs

Producing statistical reports and analysis on spending and cost saving
