Staff Volunteering Day for client charity
On 6th June this year, three members of staff from Alloy Fabweld will undertake a day of volunteering with our client Wilmott Dixon.
Wilmott Dixon helps a large number of charities as part of its Social Value Target. Their 2020 impact target is to enhance the life chances of 10,000 young people. By the end of 2018, they had enhanced a wonderful 8,936 young people's life chances in just 5 years.
One of the charities they support is the Chestnut Tree House. Chestnut Tree House is the children's hospice for East and West Sussex, Brighton & Hove and South East Hampshire. It cares for 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-shortening conditions. Wilmott Dixon has raised a staggering £500,000 for Chestnut House in just 4 years!
Our team of 3 will travel to Chestnut Tree House in Arundel, West Sussex on 6th June and embark on a great day, helping to make the gardens and surrounding grounds at the hospice nice for the children and their families. It is a very hands-on experience, including cutting back of hedges, planting flowers and making sure the woodland walk is safe for the children. It is a wonderful opportunity to get involved on a personal level with the hospice and our guys are very much looking forward to the challenge - pics to follow!
